Simple Scones

Ingredients
- 4 cups Bokomo Flour
- 4 tspns Baking Powder
- 250g baking margarine (room temperature)
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tspn vanilla essence
- ½ cup of Pure Sugar (Brown) – Optional
- 1 cup of buttermilk or sourmilk (amasi)
- 1 egg for brushing
- Pinch of salt
Method
- In a bowl using your fingertips, mix flour with margarine until it forms breadcrumbs, add your sugar and baking powder and salt
- In a separate bowl, mix together eggs, buttermilk and vanilla essence and stir until well combined
- Add your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients and mix
- Once done, transfer your dough on to a floured surface and cut. Brush with egg and bake at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown
